GUNTER, Texas — Storms rolled through North Texas on Friday night, leaving behind "widespread damage" in Gunter, according to local officials.

Gunter Volunteer Fire and Rescue Chief Jon Logan told WFAA via email that fire and police officials spent Friday night cleaning up anything that could pose a hazard to the community, such as trees downed on the roadways, downed power lines and more.

Photos shared to the Gunter Volunteer Fire and Rescue Facebook page gave a glimpse of the damage suffered from the storms. There were photos of trees on the side of the road, collapsed barns and more. According to the post, some animals in the barn were hurt and/or killed.
