A Fairburn man was charged after refusing to stop for deputies and crashing into a semi truck Thursday on North Highway 29.
According to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, a patrol deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle around the 1700 block of Highway 29 on Sept. 4 for an obstructed tag violation. The rider, later identified as 39-year-old Charles Harden, refused to pull over and drove around traffic stopped in a construction zone.
Deputies said Harden passed a crew member who was flagging traffic before continuing north and colliding head-on with a semi truck. The impact threw him from the motorcycle.
Harden was taken into custody at the scene and transported to Piedmont Newnan Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Coweta County Jail, where he remains held withou
