RHINEBECK, N.Y. — Former New York Yankee Jim Leyritz will share a spiritual and biblical conversation during worship at Rhinebeck Reformed Church, 6368 Mill St., during worship on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m.
Leyritz’s home run in Game 4 of the 1996 World Series against the Atlanta Braves helped power the Yankees to a comeback victory en route to their first world championship since 1978. In his 2011 book, “Catching Heat: The Jim Leyritz Story,” he writes about how hitting a baseball under pressure is one of the hardest things to do.
As a devout Christian, Leyritz will discuss how his faith has helped him deal with pressure-packed moments. During worship, he will use scriptures and his personal testimony to share how his faith has helped him to succeed on and off the baseball diamond, in
