Country star Morgan Wallen knows how to play to the crowd during his lively concerts, but at a sold out show at the Rogers Centre on Friday night, he also paid tribute to a legend of the building’s primary tenant.
And that caught the attention of current Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman, who moments after his team polished off the New York Yankees in the Bronx, posted his approval of Wallen’s wardrobe choice.
Wallen, who played back-to-back nights at the Rogers Centre, spent part of Friday’s concert clad in a vintage Jays Roy Halladay jersey, a tribute to the late, legendary starter whose name is on the Level of Excellence at the stadium.
That prompted a post from Gausman, who had just shut down the Yankees through a brilliant eight-inning start during the Jays’ 7-1 win at Yankee Stadium
