WRENS, Ga. - Georgia Power is moving forward with five new solar projects across the Peach State, including one in Jefferson County.
The move comes after approval from the Georgia Public Service Commission.

We spoke with neighbors who had concerns about their home values in the area near Patriots Park. They’re also concerned because it’s in a populated area.
The company was approved to certify utility-scale power purchase agreements that will supply power to customers and Georgia Power’s Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription program.
The facilities will be built by third-party companies and consist of a total of 1,068 megawatts.
The five sites will be built in the following counties:
