Junior running back Jayden Weston had a night to remember for the Cherokee Chiefs.

Weston, a junior, did better than a Vegamatic on Friday night. He sliced, diced and dissected the Sullivan East Patriots' defense for a personal best 334 yards and three touchdowns as Cherokee overcame an early 7-point deficit to roll to a 55-13 win over the visiting Patriots Friday night at Mike Sivert Field at Big Red Valley.

After senior Rowe Fletcher was ruled out for the season with a knee injury in a preseason scrimmage, Weston has stepped up and shown his mettle so far.

Friday's game was the opening Region I-4A game for both teams.
