BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Happy Saturday!

We’ve been tracking showers and storms across north Alabama this morning.

Most of the rain continues to push to the northeast clipping areas along and north of Interstate-20/59 shortly before noon. Temperatures remain in the 60s and 70s where it has been raining. Areas to the south have warmed into the low to mid 80s.

We are tracking a cold front that is forecast to move through Alabama today. Scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms will remain possible during the afternoon hours. The main threat will be pockets of heavy rainfall, gusty winds around 20 to 30 mph and lightning.

Unfortunately, not everyone will receive rainfall today. A strong storm can’t be ruled out, but I think most of these storms should remain below severe limits. T
