A young woman found slain in a vehicle just north of High Park on Friday afternoon is the city’s 30th murder victim of the year.
Toronto Police say officers responded to a “medical call” in the area of Glenlake and High Park Aves. – northwest of Keele and Bloor Sts. – shortly before 5 p.m.
Late Friday night, Duty Insp. Errol Watson told reporters that officers and paramedics found the woman inside a vehicle with injuries and she was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
“At this time, we do not have any information that led to the incident,” he said. “But I can tell you the victim was having an interaction with a male, and that male was seen leaving the area.”
The victim was identified by police on Saturday as Serenity Brown, 21, of Toronto.
