AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas forced four turnovers, and quarterback Arch Manning threw for four touchdowns in the first half, to lead the Longhorns to a 28-7 halftime lead over San Jose State on Saturday at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Texas recovered three fumbles, and Jaylon Guilbeau had an interception, giving the Longhorns' offense a short field for a lot of the opening half. Texas scored 21 points off the turnovers, and that was something head coach Steve Sarkisian said he emphasized in practice throughout the week.

Manning was 11-for-18 for 180 yards in the first half, including an 84-yard touchdown pass to Parker Livingstone in the first quarter. He hit Livingstone again for a 3-yard score late in the frame, and then found right end Jack Endries twice in the second quarter for touchdowns.
