WOODBURY, Minn. — Moorhead scored 27 first-quarter points, three coming on touchdown passes from quarterback Jett Feeney, as the Spuds held on to a 34-27 win over Woodbury on Friday in Minnesota Class 6A football.
Taye Reich had two scoring runs of 2 yards each and had a 50-yard TD catch. He finished with 124 yards on the ground.
Feeney went 5 of 6 for 128 yards and the three scores but reportedly did not play in the second half, giving way to Austin Dryburgh, who went 3 of 7 for 47 yards and an interception.
David Mack had four receptions for 95 yards, including a 48-yard TD that put the Spuds ahead 27-7.
Abou Diabate led the Spuds with eight tackles and an assist.
Woodbury outgained the Spuds 416 to 325 and each team had two turnovers.
