It’s 8am on a Tuesday morning, and husband and wife Mazen and Sahar El-Baba greet me at the door of the new Falafel Station on Magill Road. Locals sip their coffee over the paper while morning food prep is in full swing behind the counter.

Falafel Station started in 2023 as a tiny vegetarian takeaway in Prospect. Its popularity, paired with the couple’s desire to share more of their culture, pushed them to find a bigger site.

“We thought of making it bigger because we want people to know more about Lebanese food,” Sahar says.

“When you visit other states in Australia, you find Lebanese food everywhere. But when you come to Adelaide, there isn’t much. We want to share our culture through food.”
