Canberra Raider Josh Papali'i will ask a court to put a stop to the criminal case against him after claiming that a police group chat had raised questions about evidence destruction.
The 33-year-old was meant to fight charges of intimidating police and failing to leave a licensed premises in the ACT Magistrates Court in August.
Instead, the hearing was adjourned when the NRL player's defence team flagged issues surrounding the possible use of the encrypted messaging application Signal to discuss the criminal investigation.
