EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has been sacked from the BBC soap after 19 years. The 31-year-old actor, who is the one of the show's longest-serving cast members, was recently informed that his time in Albert Square was over.
BBC studios announced the news with the statement: “We can confirm that Jamie Borthwick will not be returning to EastEnders. We do not comment on individual matters.” The star, who plays the role of funeral home manager Jay Brown, was seen looking downcast and unshaven this week in pictures obtained by the Mirror as he picked up groceries from a local store near his home.
