Offense

J’Mari Taylor, RB, Virginia: His outstanding performance began by taking a handoff on fourth-and-1 and turning it into a 39-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. J’Mari Taylor, a North Carolina native who transferred from FCS North Carolina Central to UVa this past offseason, was off and running in his home state. He finished the day with 150 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.

Hollywood Smothers, RB, NC State: Wolfpack running back Hollywood Smothers was terrific, too, on this afternoon in which both sides’ run defenses struggled. Smothers was shifty and quick while rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.
