PAULSBORO – Glenn Howard, one of the pillars of the Paulsboro community during his 35 years of coaching high school football, was synonymous with the sport in this small town.
And the stadium where he led generations of student athletes to championship form will forever bear his name for future Red Raiders who run onto the field.
With over 50 of his former players and coaches joining the celebration, Howard was honored at halftime of Saturday’s game with Audubon with a ceremony. The current Red Raiders awarded the former coach with a victory on his day, a 28-14 triumph over the Green Wave.
“It’s very humbling,” Howard, a 1977 PHS graduate, said. “This place means a lot to me. … The outpouring of former players and coaches, it really touched my heart.”
Howard put Paulsboro back on the f
