There were widespread reports of tree damage and thousands of people without power in Massachusetts as a strong storm system that produced at least one tornado ripped through Saturday.
Damage reports were still coming in Saturday afternoon, as the tornado warning in the Greater Boston area expired. But police departments in various towns in the area were reporting street closures for downed trees.

Police in Holyoke shared an image of a large tree that fell onto a car, its roots pulling nearby sidewalk about 10 feet into the air. Other areas noting closed streets for storm damage included Warren, Southampton, Ashland and Paxton.
