Rockford restaurant hopefuls want to serve food and the community

ROCKFORD — Bro’s Kitchen is the vision of local chefs and longtime friends, Xavier Kimbrough and Quinton Whitley, who say their mission is simple: bring food, community and opportunity back home to Rockford.

Together, Kimbrough and Whitley, both Auburn High School graduates, are blending more than three decades of culinary and management experience into a joint venture that they hope will do more than serve meals. They want it to bring people together and restore a sense of pride in the city that raised them.
