BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- A new Black-owned business is bringing fresh energy to Eastland Mall in Bloomington.

Urban Connections, owned by Marnetta Dismuke, held its grand opening after marking five years in business. Dismuke first launched her store near Hershey and Empire and said relaunching inside the mall is a milestone.

“To me, Eastland Mall has always been dear to my heart,” Dismuke said. “When I walk in, I’m like, yes. I built this brand, I built this store, and I’m excited about it.”

The store offers clothing for men, women and kids, with new merchandise arriving every week. Dismuke said her goal is to make every customer feel valued and to offer unique pieces they will not find anywhere else.
