Cuteness was on full display Saturday afternoon at Roanoke Park, as dozens of pets and their owners marched through the Roanoke Fall Festival.

It was the annual Pet Parade, hosted by Zach’s Pet Services as part of the Roanoke Fall Festival. The parade featured dogs, chickens, goats, rabbits and other animals, all dressed in quirky costumes.

“It’s just a really fun event,” said Ashley Doster, senior pastor of Roanoke’s Seminary United Methodist Church, who paraded Saturday with her eight-month-old pocket bully Mabel.

Mabel, who on Saturday was sporting a stylish pink cowboy hat, is very social, often visiting nursing homes, which made marching in the pet parade this year a natural choice, Doster said.
