After Jerry Ricke was promoted to Lincoln Christian’s head-coaching position in 2017, those Bulldogs lost in each of their first three home games. The third of those games was played on Oct. 6, 2017.

It was an overtime setback against Tahlequah Sequoyah, and it’s significant to remember the date because Lincoln Christian has not lost on its home turf since that night.

With a 35-6 triumph over Oklahoma City rival Heritage Hall on Friday, Ricke’s top-ranked and defending Class 3A champion Bulldogs are 2-0 this season and have prevailed in 55 consecutive games played at their home venue — Dennis Byrd Stadium.

The overall Lincoln Christian streak has been extended to 30 games.
