An updated report from the National Weather Service was issued on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 6:15 p.m. for Clackamas County Cascade Foothills, Cascade Foothills of Marion and Linn counties, North Oregon Cascades and Cascades of Marion and Linn counties.
The storms are packing wind gusts of up to 40 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches).
"At 5:14 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 12 miles northeast of Breitenbush Springs, or 21 miles northeast of Detroit, moving northwest at 20 mph," explains the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible."
