PHOENIX – A new state-of-the-art police dispatch center is open and operating in Avondale after a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Sept. 2.
The overall project cost just over $4.5 million.
A new training room for dispatchers, a nursing and respite room for parenting needs and mental wellness, along with an expansion from six workstations to 10 are all part of the revamped building.
“The Avondale Police Department is proud to announce a state-of-the-art, brand-new Avondale Police Communication Dispatch Center to help our staff thrive in their workplace by providing them with the newest innovative technology, creating an enjoyable atmosphere, while proudly serving our community,” Avondale Police Chief Memo Espinoza said in a statement.
