CHARLOTTE — UNC football wide receiver Chris Culliver exited the game with an injury against Charlotte late in the first half of the Tar Heels' first road game with Bill Belichick .

Culliver was holding his left arm as he walked off the field with trainers at Jerry Richardson Stadium. Once he got to the sideline, Culliver immediately went to he locker room.

As it did against TCU, UNC got off to a blistering start by opening the game with a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead. Culliver got immediate separation against a Charlotte defensive back and caught a 51-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Gio Lopez in the first minute of the game.

Culliver had three catches for 74 yards and a TD before leaving the game. UNC carried a 17-3 lead into halftime after a rushing TD by Davion Gause.
