SAN ANTONIO — A shooting on the city’s north side Saturday afternoon was the result of a drug deal gone wrong, according to the San Antonio Police Department. Now, officers are searching for a teen suspect who fled the scene in a white SUV.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. on Cherry Ridge Drive, near Vance Jackson Road. Police said a teenage boy invited another teen to his home, where the two met in the backyard. At some point, police say a drug deal between them escalated into gunfire.
"We had one juvenile male call his juvenile friend over for a drug deal. Apparently, something went bad between them, and one shot at the other three or four times," said SAPD Sgt. Elias Tobias.
No injuries were reported, but police say bullets struck the victim’s home, and a neighboring house.
