SCHENECTADY — Nobody likes hearing that they’ve got to toughen up. It implies that there’s already a lingering sense of weakness. But at halftime on Saturday, that was the exact fire that needed to be lit under the Ballston Spa football team, and head coach Jason Ohnsman knew it.

“I told 'em that they had to be tough. There were going to be more tough plays, and there were tough moments in the first half. Could we figure out how to make our plays in the second half?” Ohnsman said. “We just said that the next two quarters were going to determine who we were.”
