PHOENIX — A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a semi-truck near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix on Friday.
Detectives determined that the driver was repositioning the truck when the passenger exited the vehicle and was hit around 8:40 p.m., according to a release.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.
The driver, 40-year-old Brian Edwards, stayed on the scene and was taken into custody.
Phoenix police said he was evaluated for impairment and booked on charges.
No further information was provided.
