Friday night’s storms left a mess across parts of North Texas.

Whipping winds amid lightning and pounding rain left a trail of damage in the community of Gunter.

Saturday revealed splintered trees and tossed trampolines along the Collin and Grayson County line.

The Gunter Volunteer Fire Department recorded a wind gust of 74 mph Friday night.

Neighbors showed NBC5 where strong winds collapsed the wood frame of a home under construction.

The storm also damaged nearby Preston Trail Farms.

Owner Rick Kimbrell said the business has weathered damaging storms before, but Friday night’s was the most destructive.

Straight-line winds damaged the roof of their feed store and ripped off the roof of their barn.

Falling debris killed three goats and left a mess across the property.
