PISCATAWAY – Rutgers football’s offense proved itself once again. Its defense continues to be a major question mark, though it did show signs of progress.

The Scarlet Knights , behind another strong game from quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis, continued to roll offensively to beat the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks 45-17 at SHI Stadium on Sept. 6.

Greg Schiano’s team moved to 2-0.

The start of the game was delayed one hour after a torrential downpour and storm rolled through the area, forcing fans to shelter in place within the concourses of the stadium.

What’s clear is that this offense, which had 421 total yards, is formidable. Kaliakmanis was sharp, going 26-of-36 passing for 259 yards with four touchdowns.
