Three years ago, the Detroit Lions made a blockbuster move to trade up and take Jameson Williams in the 2022 NFL Draft.
They re-signed him on Saturday, Sept. 6, on the eve of the season opener against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Sept. 7 (4:25 p.m., CBS).
The Lions agreed to a three-year, $83 million contract extension with Williams, who enters his fourth year of his five-year rookie contract. The Free Press confirmed the deal with a person close to the situation. The person was granted anonymity because the deal has yet to be publicly announced.
Williams is scheduled to make $2.64 million in 2025 and had a team option for $15.49 million in 2026.
