No. 2 South Dakota State earned a thrilling double-overtime win on the road on Sept. 6, 30-24, over No. 2 Montana State.

The Jackrabbits got on the board first with an Eli Stader field goal from 25 yards out. That 3-0 score held until the second quarter when Montana State answered with a touchdown to take a 7-3 lead. But Jackrabbits' QB Chase Mason put SDSU back on top a few minutes later with an 8-yard scoring run to make it 10-7 after the PAT. As time expired in the second quarter, though, Montana State evened things up with a 33-yard field goal to take things into the break at 10-10.

The the second half, both teams were held scoreless in the third quarter before each putting up a touchdown in the fourth, sending things to overtime at 17-17.
