DES MOINES, Iowa —
Two children were hit by vehicles within a 15-minute span Friday afternoon in Des Moines.
According to Des Moines police, officers responded to East 12th Street and Fremont Street at around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a 4-year-old child who had been struck by a vehicle. The child had minor injuries and did not need to be taken to a hospital.
A few minutes later, officers were called to the 300 block of East County Line Road for a report of a 12-year-old who had been hit by a vehicle. That child was taken to a nearby hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be critical.
Investigations are underway for both crashes.
