A.J. Whitehead scored a touchdown on offense, defense and special teams for New Providence in a 42-7 victory over Gov. Livingston in its season opener in Berkeley Heights.

New Providence (1-0) led 14-0 after the first quarter thanks to a three-yard touchdown run from Whitehead and a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown. Jack Fitzgerald the extra point after both touchdowns.
