On Sunday at 12:22 a.m. the National Weather Service released a flood advisory in effect until 2:15 a.m. for Brooklyn and Queens as well as Nassau County.

The weather service comments, "Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected."

"Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas," states the weather service. "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
