A ScottishPower financial accountant inspired by his dad is preparing to take part in Tour de 4 - a new charity cycling challenge launched by six-time Olympian Sir Chris Hoy to raise vital funds.
Chris Donnelly will join hundreds from across the UK at the inaugural event on September 7 in Glasgow.
Participants are encouraged to raise money for the cancer charity that means the most to them, including ScottishPower’s long-standing partner, Cancer Research UK.
Chris is dedicating the challenge to his dad, James Donnelly, who is recovering after surgery at University Hospital, Hairmyres, for prostate cancer in July this year.
He is also taking part in memory of his uncle, Tam Donnelly, who died from prostate cancer.
Chris, 33, of Cumbernauld, said: “I support Tour de 4 as this feels clos
