AUBURN — It's certainly early. There's still 10 weeks for the takes to turn sour. But two weeks in, it appears Hugh Freeze has answered Auburn football 's quarterback question.

That's not a shot from the hip, either, following the Tigers' 42-3 romp of a middling Ball State program on Sept. 6.

In a rout that, at times, actually felt underwhelming, it was clear Jackson Arnold , the Oklahoma transfer and former five-star prospect, isn't just right for the program: He's right for Freeze.

The box score said something of the sort. Arnold's day ended early in the fourth quarter, following his third touchdown pass in an Auburn uniform. The stat line was efficiently impressive, with Jackson completing 85.7% of his 28 pass attempts for 251 yards. He averaged 8.9 yards per attempt, and h
