People on benefits including Universal Credit can get FREE energy gadgets to cut bills. Octopus Energy is offering to install solar panels and heat pumps in up to 1,000 homes entirely for free.

Under the Labour Party government's Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, there are thousands of people in the UK that could be eligible to get solar and heat pumps installed in their home, for zero cost. The ECO scheme will cover the bulk of the installation costs and Octopus will aim to cover any small additional costs that might arise.

The main thing that you need to know, is that the ECO scheme is an energy efficiency program, aimed at tackling fuel poverty and this means there are quite specific criteria that the applicants must meet.
