A man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest in a hotel swimming pool.
Lifeguards had attempted to save his life after pulling him from the water, but the 70-year-old was confirmed dead shortly after his arrival at hospital.
Emergency services had been called to the hotel on Calle Londres in the Playa Fañabe area of Costa Adeje, Tenerife , Canary Islands, Spain.
At around 11.39am the Canary Islands Government’s Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received an alert reporting that lifeguards at a hotel had rescued a swimmer from the pool who was in cardiac arrest and were performing resuscitation maneuvers.
