Cumberland County wants residents to help decide what will be done with the site that it once intended to use for a downtown Fayetteville performing arts center.

A brief, anonymous survey has been created to determine the future of the former Crown Event Center space in front of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, according to a Sept. 3 news release from the county.

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners voted 5-2 on June 4 to abandon construction of the much-anticipated Crown Event Center, The Fayetteville Observer previously reported . Commissioners instead voted to renovate the existing Crown Arena and Crown Theatre on U.S. 301.
