Senior Riley Nelson had a productive weekend at the net for the King University Tornado as they played three matches at a tournament hosted by Tusculum University.

A former star at Sullivan East High School, Nelson had 19 kills and seven blocks as the Tornado went 1-2 in its three matches.

She had seven kills on Friday in a loss to Lee University and five blocks on Saturday in a setback to Edinboro.

Freshman Ava Kiser (Abingdon) had 17 assists in the three matches.

Young Harris 3, Emory & Henry

Emory & Henry lost both of its matches in a tournament in Milledgeville, Georgia, and finished 1-3 in the season-opening event.

Rollins recorded a 25-21, 25-14, 25-16 win over the Wasps on Saturday, while Young Harris beat E&H 25-19, 25-18, 18-25, 25-22.
