A Powerball ticket in Michigan purchased in Detroit won $1 million in the Saturday, Sept. 5 Powerball drawing , the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won, according to the Michigan Lottery.
The ticket matched the five white balls — 11, 23, 44, 61, 62.
It is unknown where the ticket was purchased.
A ticket sold in Missouri and a ticket sold in Texas will split the Powerball jackpot of $1.787 billion ($820.6 million cash value) .
The largest winning Powerball jackpot ticket sold in Michigan was worth $842.4 million and sold in January 2024 at Food Castle in Grand Blanc.
