HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) - For many, there's no better reason to golf than for a good cause. And Saturday's tournament was no exception.
For six years, the Myrtlewood Golf Club has partnered with Make-A-Wish South Carolina for the annual tournament, which has continued to grow year after year.
"Our tournament started six years ago as a members-only tournament for the first three years," said Make-A-Wish board member Chris Lovorn. "And then we've opened it up to the public over the last three years. We are now across two golf courses, we are completely just sold with all our sponsors and donors."
This year, the event brought in 240 golfers, 26 sponsors and 52 volunteers. The opportunity to golf for a good cause was one that participants said they couldn't turn down.
