HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A proposed offshore wind project has come to a halt after an independent study found it's not the most cost effective.
Duke Energy hoped to power more than 375,000 Carolina homes using offshore wind turbines off the coast of Little River and Wilmington.
"The impacts are going to be far greater than what they realize at this time right now," David Rapp, president for the Grand Strand Saltwater Anglers Association said.
