AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Victor Cruz was honored at UMass Amherst this morning, being enshrined in their Hall of Fame.

Cruz, one of the Minutemen's all-time greats, set a school record with 262 receiving yards against James Madison in 2008. That same season, he became the sixth UMass player in history to record over 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.

"If you come to UMass you understand the grind, especially from an athletic perspective," Cruz reflected. "You understand the grind and the will and the effort that it takes to be successful at a place like UMass so I took all of those things and took them with me even now to this day everywhere I go."
