The mud was flying at Victoria Park on Saturday night as the 173rd Owen Sound Fall Fair wrapped up with its most popular event, the demolition derby.
At least a couple thousand fans filled the stands and lined the outside of the track for the fair’s finale, which despite the fall-like weather conditions, saw a return to pre-pandemic attendance by the public. There was strong participation in many of the three-day fair’s events, including its livestock shows, truck and tractor pulls, baby show, ice cream and pie eating contests and more.

But it was the demolitions derby that brought out the biggest crowds of the weekend, and many toughed it until the end, even when a steady rain started to fall.
