LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -- Pennsylvania's former Auditor General is now the chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.

The party tapped Eugene DePasquale as its next chair.

He was a two-term Auditor General and four-term state representative.

“I also want to thank Governor Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Davis for their support and bringing me into this critical role. I’m honored by the support of my fellow Pennsylvania Democrats — and I’m ready to get to work,” Eugene DePasquale. “It’s clear that as a party, we have a lot of work and opportunity ahead of us – from building up our infrastructure, to ramping up our voter registration, to winning back the trust and the support of so many voters and communities that have been left behind."
