In September, we are seeing several countries emerge with travel advisories. Among the recent warnings issued was an increased caution for those visiting Papua New Guinea due to local government elections. The Canadian government claims, "Demonstrations and social unrest may occur before, during and after the elections. The security situation can deteriorate without warning."

Other "avoid all travel" warnings have been intensified even further , with the likes of Burkina Faso on notice for an enhanced polio warning.
