KOCHVILLE TWP, MI – Saginaw Valley State University’s 9/11 Heroes Run is returning this year to honor first responders and military service members a few days after the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

This year will mark the 12th time the university has hosted its annual event, which is slated to take place on Sunday, Sept. 14.

“We at SVSU have deep respect for military and first-responder service personnel and their families,” Beth Alford, director of Military Student Affairs at SVSU and one of the event’s coordinators, said in a statement. “This race serves as an important reminder of the sacrifices they make every day. We are proud to support the Travis Manion Foundation’s work to help our military veterans and families of the fallen.”
