MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Two children, 11 and 12, were struck by an SUV while they were walking through a Do Not Cross sign in Frayser on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The SUV driver was not cited.
According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers responded to a crash at Frayser Boulevard and Overton Crossing Street. They arrived to find two children had been struck by an SUV at the intersection; one was left with critical injuries, while the other child was expected to be OK, police said.
The driver of the SUV told investigators that he was driving past Overton Crossing Street on a green light when children "came from around a vehicle that was sitting in the turn lane," police said in a report.
By the time he saw them, "it was too late," the report continued.
MPD said the crash h
