CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say one person is dead following a single-vehicle interstate crash in Clarendon County on Saturday afternoon.
Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. near mile marker 114 on I-95. Bolt said a 2006 Nissan pickup truck was on the interstate when it traveled off the left side of the road and hit a tree. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and died.
Bolt said the crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The Clarendon County Coroner's Office confirmed that the victim was Francis Joseph Myers, 79of Pinellas Park, Florida. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
