A 63-year-old UTV driver died after colliding with a pickup truck early Saturday morning in Lafourche Parish, according to Louisiana State Police. Clovis Vizier of Galliano died at the scene near Golden Meadow.

State Police said Vizier was driving a Kawasaki Teryx UTV south on the northbound shoulder of La. Highway 3235 while a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on the highway. Vizier, who was not wearing a seatbelt, attempted to cross the highway and entered the southbound lane where the pickup truck was traveling, State Police said. The Silverado hit the UTV.

Troopers were notified of the crash shortly after 6 a.m.

The driver of the pickup truck was wearing a seatbelt and uninjured, State Police said. The driver provided a breath sample, which did not detect alcohol. A toxicology
